Post Monthly Meeting

AGENDA:

• Welcome new members.
• Special guest: A fellow Legionnaire and WWII veteran who just turned 100. Bill was a Navy fighter pilot. After service in the Navy, he worked in the aerospace industry and worked on the lunar landing module.
• Report on the October District 10 conference.
• Semiquintcentenial: We have received approval from the Bedford Town council to conduct the 250^th anniversary of United States of America parade on Armed Forces Day; Saturday, May 16, 2026. We need to put together an event committee starting now! Preliminary plan outline to be presented.
• A report on our building maintenance remediation progress.
• A review of 2025-2026 year calendar of events.
• We fell below the 2023-2024 year target in renewals and new members. We need to focus on recruiting new members. We have plenty of promotional materials. There are over 5,000 veterans in Bedford County, a good recruiting base.
• We need volunteers to staff our Veterans Day helmet collection on Saturday, November 8 at Bedford Food Lion from 9:00am to 5:00pm in 2 hour shifts.
• Bedford Viet Nam Memorial dedication November 22 update.
• JROTC update.
• Honor Guard update
